Fire Burning On The Dance Floor

So today at work me and LM took our break at 6:45pm(15 minute break) then maybe about 5minutes into our break a fire alarm goes off and our head supervisor walks into the kitchen and is like everybody OUTT. So we're all confused/happy/annoyed that this was happening during our break. So I walked to my desk and grabbed my work card and sunglasses and we all began to walk down the stairs all casually. Then we were chilling outside and they told us we should cross the street so we all crossed the street and that's when 5 FIRE TRUCKS came. So at this point we're like wth there's an actual fire?!? It was all very exciting and entertaining!!

Anyway at 7:20ish the fire trucks all left and we went back inside we were all waiting for the elevators and only two came and filled up then our head supervisor said the rest of us had to walk up the stairs which was such a work out wow. It's like God's way of getting back at me for not going to the gym. But I do plan on going tomorrow morning so that's somewhat good! Anyway I decided I should obviously doucument this awesome moment so here are my photos of the incident:

LM ended up asking one of the supervisors what happened because once we got upstairs and sat down it was 7:28 and our shift finishes at 7:30 so everyone had to go see their supervisors and for those of us that finished at 7:30 we got to leave obviously and we got paid to stand out side for about 40mins!!! So basically our supervisor told us that on the first floor they were renovating or something and one of the pipes broke so it started to flood the place so they evacuated the whole building in case the water and the wires and whatnot can cause an electrical fire. So yup that was my interesting day at work.. gotta love opinion search!

Oh and today I hung out with GR (: was funn i signed up for driving school finally! I start July 8th the day after my last day of summer school which is perfect! and GR signed up for her written exam on July 2nd! No more procrastinating with us anymore!!

Aimlessly walking

So I'm always meaning to blog but I never get around to it even though I have quite a few photos that have interesting stories attached to them. I guess I'll start with today. So my shift got cancelled at work today and I decided to go shopping with C. We figured we should try something different instead of always shopping downtown. So we got off at Mount-Royal metro and began walking and shopping. It was a perfect day for all that walking since it wasn't too hot or too cold. We ended up walking all the way down a little bit past Papineau street and then we discovered this:


I just had to take a picture of it...we were dying!!! I didn't think Montreal actually had this. Anyway besides that it was a very productive day. I bought nice sandals and I finally got plain black flats. I can't believe that it was possible that I didn't own a pair of regular plain black flats, but now I do! Oh, C and I also decided that we would be going on a tour of Europe either next summer or the one after that depending on how much we can save. I'm so excited for it and cannot wait to book it!

20

I'm 20 now, since sunday :O. My birthday was pretty random, went to cafeteria on St. Laurent to eat dinner, then went to Bsides, Asides, and Med. I still had fun though and I'm thankful for all the people that showed up/stopped by, I really appreciate it. The weekend of my birthday is always the busiest so I'm happy that at least some people can fit me into their busy schedules hehe :)
Anyway photo of the night had to be from cafeteria when I was trying to take a photo of T&CC but they were being lame and covering their faces so I happened to turn the camera down and snapped a photo of myself. Was a pretty cool shot. I love accidental photos :)


I also finally went to Bsides even if it wasn't for long and I got to have the drinks that they serve in those tomatoe jars with handles!!! Thanks to E for buying me the drinks :)

Sunny Day

So last night I couldn't sleep, this guy from work was texting me non stop till about 3 a.m. Then I stayed online talking to my neighbor, U, till 4:30 a.m. I then proceeded to log off even though I was wide awake. I tossed and turned for a while then went to the bathroom and looked out the window to find out how blue the sky was. It was so nice and peaceful, so when I got back to my room I fumbled in the dark, found my camera and decided to take a couple of photos. I recommend not searching for a camera in the dark without glasses..it is quite difficult. Anyway afterward I went back to bed and it must have been around 5 a.m. at this point because I heard my father getting up to go shower for work. Ever since I was little I find the sound of the shower soothing, I must have fallen alseep right after hearing that because it's the last thing I remember.
My friend DP thinks I have insomnia....I'm actually not sure whether or not I do.

Chanel No.5

So my last blog was all depressing and whatnot. I think it's good to let out some of those feelings once in a while. Don't get me wrong I'm not always like that lol. This blog post is one of ulta happiness and discovery!!!

Audrey Tautou the actress from one of my all time favorite movies, Amelie, is the new face of Chanel No. 5. Goodbye Nicole Kidman and hello Audrey Tautou. She's simply beauitful and I have the link to the short film here. I fell in love the moment I watched it.




Also I was browsing the internet just before and found that she will be staring in Coco Avant Chanel a new movie( well fairly new it says it came out April 22 2009 in select theaters) I don't know when it will be playing in Canada. But when I find out I'm definately watching :) Here's the trailer as well:

Heart

I never really understood why people would use the term heartbroken/heartache since your heart never actually breaks/aches, I always found it to be such an overdramatic word. Well call me a hypocrite but I guess I finally understand what people really mean when they say they're heartbroken. I think it's a feeling that you can only fully understand once it's happened to you.
It's that feeling you get in your chest when you feel as though every heartbeat is beating too fast, when every breath that escapes you takes so much effort. When you begin to cry and no matter how much you try and stop it that lump in your throat seems to keep growing and every breath becomes a struggle. The tears just keep coming and even once you feel as though there are no more tears left in you, a new stream beings to appear. It's that feeling that your ribcage is going to collapse and your throat explode. It's the burning feeling that needs to escape your body but can't seem to and just continues burning. Your heart literally begins to ache and your head to throb and no matter what you do you can't escape the pain.
The first appearance of this is always the strongest and the worst but somehow one manages to get through it and then it's this continuous feeling that enters your body night after night and no matter how much you try to postpone it or occupy your mind it creeps up on you and begins like clockwork.
Sure, eventually it begins to diminish but right when you think you've finally overcome it and have moved on it begins again when you least expect it, stronger than the last time and with no mercy.
Who knows maybe I'm actually a hidden drama queen.... true the heart is in the healing process since it's not as frequent but I guess time moves too slow for my liking. I just thought of the song Better In Time from Leona Lewis the part when she sings the chorus "thought I couldn't live without you, it's gonna hurt when it heals too, it'll all get better with time, even though I really love you, I'm gonna smile cuz I deserve too, it'll all get better with time."

Wonder

wow I haven't posted in sooo long. So much has happened to start writing about it now so I'll just skip that lol.

My cousin's birthday was last week on the 8th to be exact! 20 years old heh, she's exactly 2 weeks and two days older than me :) We had a good time at alkemista or wtv it's called, she actually got drunk it was pretty hilarious to see. My cousin that does not drink getting drunk...as long as it's not a habit I guess bday night can be her exception heh. Anyway I love my cousin to death and I know she had a good time with all her friends. We took some photos of the night but they were all pretty hidious..so i'm only posting one...which isn't really of anything but my hand haha!!

Hot, Spicy and Delicious

So last night for C's delayed birthday celebration we ended up going to Hot&Spicy for dinner...and it was amazing! We had sooooo much food it was a good thing I hadn't eaten much all day. Even at that we couldn't finish half the food. It was deliciouss!!! afterwards we ended up going to Univers for some drinks which were all red and tasted like candy! All in all was a nice night and it was so beautiful yesterday.

I finally put myself to work on Saturday 1-5, I hadn't done that shift in sooo long. Anyway on my way to work I saw A in the metro so we ended walking to work together and on our way there in Square Phillips there was some kind of demonstration going on about the Arminian genocide. I'm not sure what they were doing exactly...maybe raising awareness but it was interesting. We only stopped so I could snap a photo....It was all step up and everything, they used a loud speaker and had people distributing water.


Anyway that was pretty much the only interesting thing that happened Saturday till I met up with the girls for dinner :)

Roadtrip to Nowhere

So i haven't updated in a while.... this saturday was pretty much the most unproductive day ever. CC and I drove around Montreal from about 3-10pm....with stops inbetween. We ended up at AS and NS's house to watch the hockey game but we didn't even end up watching it. Anyway I decided to snap some pictures of our "roadtrip to nowhere":

Anywho nothing really eventful happened since then..just work and more work.

Easter

so wow i haven't posted in a whileee.
Easter came and went and my nonno is back home..
:) and i'm done school... and it's april woot and nice and hot outside!!
so i haven't updated in a while. My last post was Easter monday but i was so stressed with school and writing my essay that I didn't really update except with a photo of my desk lol. This should have been that post hehe. Easter was fun though I didn't really spend much time with everyone seeing as I had to go home and write my essay. My zia left sunday late afternoon. She had a short trip but it was fun while it lasted!Anyway I'll try and post more often now that school's officially done with! I managed to finish that essay on time and hand it in. I just need my grades now...I hope I keep up my A average hehe.

School's Out

So this is what my desk looks like at the moment....a giant mess of articles. I'm currently writing my final paper. FML. I so far have 4 pages and it needs to be 8-12 pages. Take a wild guess how many I plan on writing......if you guess 8 then you are correct! Disregard my previous post about aiming for 10 and it not taking long. Writer's block sucks. On the plus side I'm technically halfway there. YAY ME! anyway must go back to this essay of death.

Daisy

So today I went for breakfast with my family and my zia, she came to visit for a while and is leaving tmrw night. We went to tutti frutti(!) and I had some delicious breakfast potatoes :D
Afterwards we went to my nonni's house and dropped off my zia. When I got home I started searching for more articles to use in my essay...an essay which I have still not managed to start writing. I found 5 articles though so that's a start seeing as I needed 5 outside sources and then either present my research findings or write an argumentative essay. Either way it's an 8-12 page essay. I'm going for 10 pages since that's the middle ground. I don't think it'll take me long once I've read my sources and figured out whether to write an argumentative essay or just present my sources. Right now I'm leaning towards argumentative.

Wow ok, I just realized the tangent I went on....back to what happened today... so after finding my articles I went with my zia downtown to go have an early dinner/late lunch with my cousins. We ended up going to California Pizza on Cresent street and I must reccomend it to whoever actually reads this...anyway after that we ended up going to Pharmaprix and I ended up finally getting some eyeliner and my Marc Jacobs perfume!!! I ran out a while ago and never went to buy it but today I saw it and asked how much it was and the lady working there said 72$ for 50ml and around 100$ for 100ml. After my cousin asked how much her Vera Wang was and she showed her a little kit that came with the perfume a lotion and a compact size of the perfume. As she was showing that to my cousin I spotted a smiliar version but for Daisy by Marc Jacobs and I just had to get it!! I'm so glad I did because it was only 9$ more than the 50ml perfume bottle but it came with shower gel and body lotion!! So anyway I was quite pleased with the purchase seeing as I just got out of the show and I smell like Daisy!!!
Anyway now I must go back to reading my articles so I can start writing this essay..

So the habs actually made the playoffs... it's the 100 year anniversary and they've been playing horribly. Really it has been quite embarrassing. Let's see if they can make it past first round. I'd like to believe that they will but they've been so up and down lately that I honestly have no clue.

Hello Winter

You can't tell from this photo but it snowed this morning.
I took this right before leaving for school...causing me to miss my bus since I couldn't remember the last place I put my camera.
I actually dislike birds very much.
ah well.

Tmrw's the last day of school. I have my oral...joy. and then work. I feel like I haven't worked in ages..it's really only been a week. Funny these last couple of weeks have felt so long but then I look at the date and we're already april...time really flies.

1 more essay and I will have officially finished my first semester at McGill!

So nonno is still in the hospital...they don't know what's wrong.
I'm going to go visit him tmrw since I don't actually have to go to media class..just hand in my unit plan. I wish I didn't have so many things to do so that I could go stay with him more often. I still haven't visited him yet and I feel horrible :(
I hope they figure out what's wrong soon that they can fix it and he can come back home.

Oh and my zia sonia is here. She flew in friday from Bahrain and I only saw her for about 5 minutes on Friday. Urgh at least I'm almost done this unit plan and my oral is all written out. I just need to finish two more essays and study for one last exam and it'll all be over. Then I can actually concentrate on what's important right now.

Pecan

So I haven't been writing too much since school is coming to an end and I have tons of work to do. We are currently Saturday and I have to make 10 lesson plans for Monday, study for an exam on Wednesday, memorize an oral for Thursday as well as write an essay for the same class. Luckily enough my professor for Multi. Ed. is giving us an extention on our final essay so I have all of Easter weekend to write my 10 page paper for that class (it was going to be due the Thursday of my oral and other essay but now it's due the 14th!).

Anyway enough of that. So last night I went to Baton Rouge and Timmies with C, S, and CC. Before CC and I went to pick up S we were at C's house chilling. As we were waiting for C to get something I decided to pull out a book that I recently started reading. So as I'm pulling it out and about to read CC come to me and says "Sarah what are you reading?!" so I show her the cover and CC pulls a face and then says "Only you read these weird books" and I said "It's not weird so far it's really good" and then she says the funniest/stupidest thing everr!!! "WHY IS THERE A PECAN ON THE FRONT COVER?!?!?!" So I burst into laughter wondering wth she is saying and I almost fall off the bed and at this point we are both laughing uncontrollably. Finally i muster the energy to say "it's not a PECAN it's a PARROT".

Only CC loll. I managed to laugh so much that I ended up crying. Good times hahah!! Now I must go back to writing my media lesson plans...

My nonno's been in the hospital since monday morning now, the doctors don't know what's wrong with him. I'm praying that he's going to be alright.

Call of Duty

I feel like I haven't written in a while even though it really hasn't been that long. So yes, the weekend came and went and it is now Monday night, soon to be Tuesday morning. I always seem to be blogging late at night hehe.

So I'm taking a mini study break, I have my educational psychology exam tmrw...I'm not that nervous...I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Oh well, I'll find out soon enough.

Anyway on Sunday I went to GR's house for her little birthday get together. We played guitar hero a lot, it was funn :) Except I didn't really know anyone so I spent most of my time with GR and J and when GR had to go be a good hostess and before J got there I stayed with P. He was playing COD and I took over the mic hehe it was fun (:

Weeekendddd!

Notice the ripping; it would be pretty bad if it ripped while I'm walking down the street or something. Though it would be quite funny.

So today is saturday woot woot! but not so much. Last night was a very drama filled event. I ended up going to bed at 3:30am. I don't know how I managed to stay up seeing as I was running on less than 4 hours of sleep. I woke up today at 2pm....I've never slept that much it was crazy.

So at the moment it is 4:52pm. I was going to go buy GR's present today but so much for that. I wish the malls would close at 9pm on weekends that way I would still have time to get it. Now I guess I'm just going to get her a card with an IOU loll.

About last night haha oh boy K's ex-bf is psycho. That's putting it mildly, he threatened to run her over and was searching all over laval for her and claimed that he was waiting for her at her house. It was like an episode of the hills only live. We had to drive her to her house and before that had to ask MM and V to check if her ex's car was around. She told her ex that she was going to call the police if he didn't leave, so I guess that scared him. She ended up getting home safely but what an event. Searching the streets of Laval to make sure his car wasn't around.

On a lighter note there's two weeks left of school :) It's going to be a crazy last week, so much to do and so little time. I might have to disappear from the world loll. But at least I'll be done soon! And then workworkwork seeing as I need to save up for a laptop as well as go for my license! FINALLY.

All my friends drive except me heh I could have gone for my license in Feb. but I had no time, with school and work. But now I have till June when my summer class starts to go for lessons. Hopefully i will have my license before september. It's gonna be sick!

Rainy Days...

Today was an okay day, my dad is home all week so I usually get lifts to the metro, but today he needed to drive downtown so I got a lift all the way to school...I didn't have to walk up the hill of death SCORE!

Thus began my day of interesting events...
I went to my multicultural education class which was pretty interesting, we discussed language and ways to go about teaching english and french as a second language. I decided to skip my psychology class since I needed to write an essay for my exceptional students class. So I stayed in the library researching and beginning my essay till 4:20pm (lol!) anyway then I went to meet C down at McGill metro.
So as I'm walking through campus I see a dude dressed as a SHARK lmaooo it was the most random/funniest thing. Then as I'm nearing the metro there is a HSBC bank and it was all taped off with 3 security guards standing around the entrance and on the side were two cops cars a bunch of people standing outside and a cop bus... yes a cop bus, like those handicap buses except this one was a cop bus. I never saw one before either. So yeah those were my random experiences of the day.

OH and to top it all off I forgot my camera at home so I couldn't even get a photo of any of this :(
Plus what is up with me seeing two incidents of "crime" or maybe not but cop cars everywhere and caution tape blocking areas lol. Ah well.

PS. As I was walking home from the bus stop after my semi eventful day it began raining and I actually enjoyed it I just began strolling through the street and it felt exilerating. I can't even describe the feeling, I just felt as though I was at peace with the world around me. Even though I'm nearing the end of semester and I have so many things to do; it felt good to have that moment of peace. I think having those moments is what can keep one sane. I just love it when I experience those moments (:

ANYWAY, so today is my mom's birthday...HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM! I went to buy her a gift and I was more excited about her seeing the gift bag than the gift itself. How lame....until you find out why. IT WAS SCRATCH AND SNIFF!!! Cupcakes all over the bag and it smelled so divine (:

So other than getting that awesome gift bag today, I finally went to work..after quite a while it seems like. After work I was walking to Urban Outfitters with G&A, as we were nearing Urban we witnessed a crime scene for sure. There were a bunch of cop cars and they blocked off this whole part of the street..sidewalks and all. The A proceeded to yelling out G has a gun... thankfully the cops didn't hear. So anyway I wanted to get a photo of the incident but there were cops everywhere and it's hard to be discreet. So I quickly snapped a photo...not very good but whatever

Wishing and Waiting

So today was pretty uneventful. I had class at 1:05pm, yes 05...I don't ask why. So my prof's 4 year old daughter was in class with us, she was just so cute (: Tiny with a little blond bob, she looked exactly like my prof and she was so well behaved, sat there and colored, occasionally waving at her mom which was so adorable. Anyway so after class I had to go renew my Medicare card...how lovely. So I got home grabbed my papers and headed to the pharmacy to have my photo taken. Honestly 9$ for a little photo that I could have taken myself is pretty annoying. So after receiving my photo i headed to the clsc to hand in my form and photo and that surprisingly did not take long at all. I was pretty excited to head back home but my dad had other plans. He needed to go fax some important papers ASAP. Sooooo we headed over to bureau en gros and I waited for him in the car... it took him forever so I decided to take out my camera....this was the result:

The Joys of Owning a PC

The root of all evil: my Dell Inspiron 1520 laptop.

I think I have established a love-hate relationship with my laptop. Why yes of course it is useful to me in so many ways like writing this blog and not to mention the countless times I've used it to watch all my t.v. shows and do all of my homework, but it is also the cause of so many problems: constantly shuting down on me, webpages freezing, battery dying after 2mins, heaviness, etc.

All this to say I'm finally converting to Mac after 20 long years of being a PC user. Shocking I know, I guess you can call me a traitor..oh well, I've shared some good times with this laptop but it's time to retire it. That is of course once I save up enough money for a MacBook, so for now this'll have to do. But come end of August I will be getting rid of this piece of junk that I've grown accustom to.
