TEAM CANADA!!!!

OH MAN WHAT A GAME!!
heart palpitations throughout! I swear I think I would have died if we lost that game. Was beyond intense; so much action from the minute the puck dropped to the overtime winning goal. As much as I can't stand Crosby I was beyond ecstatic that he finally decided to do something and SCORE!!!
You can just imagine what my photo of the day is for today... It's not really one photo more like a series of photos taken..they're not the best quality for obvious reasons but they capture the moment!

Proud to be Canadian!

GOLD.

Canada beat Slovakia. Although I felt bad for Halak (the Montreal Canadians goalie), I am beyond excited for the medal game on Sunday against the U.S.
So I didn't post yesterday since I had no time but I did take a photo. A photo that should have been taken years ago. A photo of the best sandwich and best place...a Milano's sub!!!

Milano's is my second home, so why not have a picture of their chicken sandwich! Last night was by far the most eventful Milano's night.
CC, C, and I met one of the big bosses of Milano's and he ended up giving us all kinds of free stuff!! It was his son's 18th birthday and he even gave us free shots and cake. Was so funny, he was a really nice guy; we were all watching the olympics and cracking jokes together. Was an interesting night to say the least.

Today on the other hand was not so interesting. I stayed home and did homework. The only nice part was Canada going to the finals and O coming over to chill for a bit :)

McKibbins

CANADA BEAT RUSSIA IN HOCKEY!!! WOOOT WOOOT WOOOOT WOOOT ! bring on the gold medal people!!

So today I went to a pub for the first time. Was quite an interesting experience. C and I had to do our music assignment which required us to go listen to a live concert and fill out our assignment by describing the setting, people, and musicality of the concert. So we went to McKibbins Pub on St-Laurent. The place is fairly new. When we walked in we did feel very out of place but as we settled in and noticed our surroundings it was a pleasant surprise. The pub was nicely decorated and had that homely feel to it. It was packed since team Canada was playing Russia but it was nice. We ended up getting a bite to eat and their menu's are so cool...they're newspapers! Also the band was pretty good. They mostly did covers of songs but they were very friendly and it just seemed straight out of a movie. Local place where people chill.

So I couldn't decide which photo to put. Since I talked about the menu and the decor I decided I'll just put up both!

Continuation of my bucket list:

84. Go snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef

83. Ride a camel (check)

82. Go rock climbing

81. Go snowshoeing (check)

80. Visit Greece (specifically Santorini)

The more I see the less I know...

...but I know one thing, that I love you!

Such a cute song and just makes you want to move when you hear it! So today was Lost day!!! What an awesome show, I'm in love. And you can probably guess my photo of the day....Yes it's lost...one of my favorite characters Hugo "Hurley" Reyes:This photo was taken mid episode while watching on ABC. A came over tonight and we watched it together while eating Frutti di Bosco cake. Was delicious and an awesome lost night. Team Canada also beat German in hockey so that was a good thing as well!! I still haven't started any homework today. Tomorrow I'm planning on asking my neighbor, L, if I can borrow her book for my lit class. I also put a book on hold in the library but it was already taken out so I must wait till Thursday before I can pick it up (this is for my research paper). In the meantime I will search for websites and articles. But for now I'm off to sleep because my bad sleeping habits are quickly catching up to me and I can't take another day of going to bed late and waking up early.

I will hold you

I'm not sure if I've mentioned this in previous blogs but I have my license now! It's been a while, let me think......3 months to be exact. Feels like much longer though. So today's Monday and I'm on spring break, or should I say reading week. I actually have a lot of homework and studying to do during this "break". My religion midterm will be on the tuesday that I get back from school. I also have a research paper to write for my communications class due the same tuesday morning. And I just remembered earlier today that I have to read The Breadwinner for my young adult literature class. Although I am receiving a break from classes, it's technically not a break from school. En plus, I work every day this week except for friday...soooo we'll see how well this plays out. There is a high probability that I will leave everything for the weekend.

O took that photo of me while I was driving him back to his car. It kind of looks like he's sitting behind me but he wasn't! This was taken after work today; I had to go buy my kids some prizes and O had to go to the dry cleaners. During work, the kids that I help have bonuses that they can accumulate and whoever has the most at the end of the month will receive a little prize. So O came with me and helped me pick out a few prizes, they're really cute and I hope the kids will love them!

Anyway here is my old photo; this was taken end of summer, a man on the street was spray painting the galaxy:

..

<--I will be doing this all weekend...joy. So this weekend already came and went, so quickly might I add. This week is going to be pretty hectic with working everyday. I have to study for my religion midterm, basically finish reading the articles in this course pack and read all my notes. Then I have to write a research paper for my other class which I still haven't researched anything yet. I feel like I won't do anything this week, I really hope I don't procrastinate...we'll see what happens.

Anyway onto a totally different topic. I need to start saving my money, and not spend it on useless things like eating out because I'm too lazy to make my lunch at home! We'll see how well that works out....

Here's my old photo...I won't be seeing these gates for a whole week!! :

Fireflies

Today was quite a fun day. Went tubbing(!) with C and S. We managed to wake up at 9 this morning much to everyone's surprise. By the time we got there it was 12pm due to going out for breakfast and getting off at the wrong exit. All in all it was a very fun day and we felt like kids again, all bundled up in the snow with our big tubes and our snow pants! Those were the days!!

So naturally I decided I must take a photo; the scenery was breathtaking but I didn't want to take my camera with me up on the slopes. So after we had dinner and were walking to the car I quickly snapped this photo:

On another note that will eventually tie into today, I forgot to post for yesterday. It was a very hectic day and I was barely home. I had work from 9-4:15 and afterward did a little window shopping, but was too tired to actually try on stuff! That night was my friend NB's birthday. When I finally arrived home from work, I ate and then had to figure out what to wear. Then I had to get ready and go pick up C and S. So by the time I did all that I couldn't blog, which is convenient because my photo for that day was taken that night at NB's birthday. Since I came home at 3 and I didn't have time to blog this morning because I had to go tubbing I'm posting my photo today even though it is for yesterday.
And here's a continuation of my list of things to do:

89. Travel the world

88. Swim with dolphins (check)

87. Buy a house

86. Publish a photograph in a magazine or newspaper, etc

85. be part of a bridal party

Midnight Hour

I'm gonna wait till the midnight hour.... this song is stuck in my head thanks to music class! Incidentally, the youtube link I've posted is from RAI. For those of you that don't know, RAI is an italian station. I found it amusing that the video was from that TV station!!

So I had my music midterm today and I think it went fairly well, which scares me slightly because that could mean I did horrible. Granted, I didn't know a few question but I'm hoping that I did well overall.

As for my photo of the day it's by far the cutest thing I've seen! Whoever came up with that idea is genius! These little hats are all over the place. They make my day! Haha, yes I know what you're thinking "wow doesn't take much to make her day". I guess so, little things make me happy :)

Now onto my list of things to accomplish:

94. Buy breakfast and dog treats for the hobo and his dog that sleep in Peel Metro

93. Swim with great white sharks off the coast of South Africa

92. Graduate university

91. Learn how to hip hop dance

90. Plant a tree

Love is All You Need

Yummy cupcakes :) So I took a little break from doing homework before and watched last night's episode of The Buried Life. If you don't know about this show or haven't watch it I recommend you stop reading this and go watch it...better yet finish reading this and then go watch!! So anyway just a little recap of the show in general:
Basically it's 4 guys who have a bucket list of 100 things to do before they die. They go across the U.S. and try to complete each item on the list. But there is a catch. For every item that they complete they must help a total stranger achieve their biggest dream. So they go around asking random people what they want to do before they die, and then these four guys help them complete that. I absolutely love this show and I think it's amazing that they are doing this.
I've always had a mental bucket list, checking things off or adding things as I grow older but I've never actually written down the things I want to do before I die. Sometimes things come to me and I store them in my mind. Recently I started reading N's blog and she was inspired by the guys from the buried life to start her own list. This got me thinking: why don't I actually write out my list here on my blog as well. That way I'll never forget and I can always have a record of my hopes and dreams. Now, I'm not sure in which particular order I would place things, so I'll just list them randomly. Side note: I will add things that were on my mental list that have already been completed as well. I'm not going to list them all at once, just a few a day.
So here goes:

100. Visit Fiji

99. Go skydiving

98. Hold a snake

97. Teach English in El Salvador

96. Play with a monkey

95. Learn how to snowboard

So that's it for today, and in case you're wondering when you can watch the show. Just go to mtv.ca and you can watch the episodes online. The show's fairly recent; if i'm not mistaken episode 5 just aired last night. If you prefer watching on T.V. the airs on MTV every monday night at 10pm. Also here's my old photo for the day:

Smack that

I have that song stuck in my head. It's annoying, even though I love Akon, I'm not a fan of that particular song. So, last night I was supposed to finish my literature assignment that was due today but I decided to talk on the phone instead. I ended up waking up late this morning and finally finished it. Feels good to not have to think about that now. Our next assignment isn't due till March 15th, so I have plenty of time to read the next book and do the assignment. The next book my group and I will be reading is The Book Thief. I have yet to go find it in the library but apparently it's a lengthy book. Thankfully, I have all of spring break to read it.

Photo of the day:
I found my old keychains a few weeks ago and was so excited because I loved these key chains! On my house keys I only kept one keychain which is the one my cousin, N, gave me. But now I have these ones as well! My green pig and Eiffel Tower :) My pig is destroyed!! GR has the same one too!

Also the other day I was on my PC and found all my old photos I took. I tried to keep up my photo a day project and I had kept all the photos on my PC but I never blogged them. So, I've transferred them to my mac and I'm going to post them everyday. So now instead of a photo a day/blog. You'll get two! I'll try and pick the most recent first. So here's my second photo:

Isn't it so cool? The red light is in the shape of a heart. The was near St Laurent street. I was so happy I got a shot of it before it changed to green. I absolutely love it (no pun intended) :)

Red Velvet

So, I kind of slacked on posting hehe! But I'm still alive just been busy with doing homework. In case you don't know I'm procrastinating right now. So this photo that I've posted is not from today, it's from yesterday afternoon while I was baking red velvet cake, hence the red batter. I didn't have time to come online and post it so I'm doing it now instead. I will have to take another photo tonight so I can post it on here.
So today was my cousin Nz's birthday "party" at my grandparents house. I'm still full from all the delicious food :)..pasta,salmon and rice, frutti di bosco cake and some cupcakes! Was good. Then me and N lay in bed quoting Anchorman, oh the laughs. I want to watch it now. But, I must finish my lit. assignment. So I'm going to go finish that.

Toddles.

blah

Today went from being blah, to horrifying, to boring, to good, to not too bad, to bad, and back to blah. I don't know why I bother sometimes. I don't feel like writing anything today. I didn't take a photo either. Maybe I'll take one later on, the day's still not over technically.
So if you see a photo on this blog it's probably because it was taken between 8:30-midnight.

Sometimes I wonder what life would have been like if I were living in California. Would it be better?

Lost!

2006 was a good year; the year I graduated high school; the year I traveled to Dubai; the year I started cegep; the year I made many new friends; and I'd like to think it's the year that I matured a great deal. I cannot believe that already 4 years have passed since then. The years fly by but days go by slowly. It's a scary thought sometimes.

Even though I matured a great deal since high school I feel as though there's a constant maturation that needs to be fulfilled and that we all go through as the years go by. I don't know if I'll ever reach that stage where I will finally be "mature", personally I don't think anyone will or has reached that stage. Don't mind my random typing aloud...

Earlier this evening I watched lost...great show and very confusing to say the least. I don't enjoy watching it on TV though; I've become so accustom to watching it online sans commercials that it's a nuisance to watch it on the television.

Anyway in case you're wondering why I do not have a photo of my yoga mat, I shall explain. I did not go to the gym this evening. Unfortunately I could not borrow the car because my sister had piano practice at the same time as my yoga class, and C's parents were not home to lend her the car either. So we've decided that we'd go tomorrow instead!

Downtown, where all the lights are bright

Coming home from class today I decided to finally take this long await photo of the downtown lights from the top of the hill of death. It's really a sight to see once the sun sets.

I'm still quite surprised that I walk up this hill everyday that I have class. The only excise that I actually do. Which, by the way will soon be changing. My new commitment to the gym will be starting tomorrow with Power Yoga! Sounds intense but I'm excited to go. I'm even bring my own yoga mat from home. Yes, you're probably wonder....why do I own a yoga mat if I never exercise? Well that's a very good question. I don't have an answer to it. I just always wanted to own one and my mom saw one on sale at winners so I bought it. Used it maybe twice in my life. I shall probably be posting a photo of that soon...soon being tomorrow since I will post all about my gym experience. For now I must go, and I'll leave with this song that is stuck in my head perhaps from looking at my photograph:

Music

My weekend consisted of reading this book:
Eventful? I think not. At least I'm catching up. Even though, it seems never ending. Spring break where art thou? I need you.

Science

So today I woke up at a time that I didn't even know I could actually wake up at. I think the last time I woke up this late was when I was sick in bed. So my day was really not interesting at all. I read chapters for music and listening to all the tracks. I organized my study questions and checked what I need to do from now until Spring Break. I have to really start managing my time from now on because it's getting to be intense. I don't know if I mentioned this in my previous blog but C and I decided to hit up the Y on thursday night. We received a free pass that we're planning on using this week. So if I decide to rejoin the gym I'm going to have to prioritize my time properly. This is also one of the steps I'm taking to tackle my commitmentophobe!

I walked into my kitchen this morning and found this glass on my counter. I was quite confused as to what was in the glass...I'm sure you're probably wondering this as well. It's an egg. My sister's science project has to do with soft drinks and their effects on one's body I'm assuming. I guess it's a good thing I don't drink soft drinks. Anyway, I'll keep you posted on what happens to the egg in the glass, perhaps even post a follow up photo in a later blog :)

Magnolia

I was 5 minutes late for work today. Thankfully, my supervisor, L, didn't say anything. But she did ask me why I was late. My bus is always late, as usual. Rewind to a year ago... L gave me an infraction because I was a minute late, literally. I had to work 350 hours to clear that. Ah the joys of getting on your supervisors good side :).
One of the few girls at work that likes me, thank God!!!
Anyway, she even gave me a number to get a complete, which really helped me today. I'm glad :)
It wasn't such a bad day after all! The little things people do can really make someone's day.

I forgot to mention this in my blog yesterday but I think it fits better with this one and my photo.
I was on the bus going home after class and it was packed. This group of high school girls start moving toward the back of the bus and the girl sitting next to me called out to them. So, inevitably they all huddled around her. As they were standing there, a few were yelling out "I speak good. I speak english good because I live in Canada". They were French. Anyway come my stop, the bus was still pack so I started to get up and as I was trying to get to the door I instinctively said "sorry" in English instead of in French. So one of the girls was telling her friend in French to let me pass and after i said sorry the other one said "you're welcome" so I smiled thinking it's cute, and she says to me "my English no good" so I said, "no no it's really good!" and she responded with "oh thank you thank you!" Finally I got threw and I said "merci" which they ended with "oh de rien madame". I thought it was so cute how friendly they were. Seeing as there's always that stereotype surrounding groups of high school kids as being rude, obnoxious, and loud. Well yes they were loud, but they were friendlier than a lot of adults that huff and puff when you're trying to get through.
It was a pleasant surprise.

Speaking of pleasant surprises, I met S today on my way home from work. She was going on her date. It was a nice encounter. Anyway that is all for now, I must go get ready for tonight. Don't forget to find those little things that "sparkle up your day"!

Movies and Commitment

That's my music class...it's like a movie theatre I love it :) I decided I must take a photo of it for this blog. I enjoy going to music and listening to all the songs and our T.A. that gets so into it when he plays the tracks. Hopefully I'll do well on the midterm coming up before spring break. C, S, and I decided to split up the study questions for the chapters. So now I have to do 17 chapter questions instead of 49. We're just going to swap questions. Formed our own little study group hopefully to become more productive.

Tonight at Milanos, C and I had a revelation. We've discovered that I'm afraid of commitment. Which now that she mentioned it, makes total sense. I procrastinate with everything and I can't commit to much. Take this blog for example, last year I wanted to blog everyday and I failed at that miserable. I also wanted to take a photo a day (reason why I started the blog)...that didn't end up happening either. I'm barely committed to my schoolwork and not to mention all the "relationships" I've been in that have never even made it past the 6 months stage. It's all become so clear now. Commitmentophobe. C has diagnosed me.
I have finally seen the light. And I've decided that I'm sick of this. I'm going to change that. Starting with the little things obviously. I'm going to try to write in this blog everyday and take a photo everyday. I'm going to do my jaw exercises and do my homework on time. Little by little I will overcome this!
I'm feeling really optimistic about this whole dilemma. God willing I'll be able to get over this problem of mine.
Pray for me!!! I'll need it for realz.

Peace&Love,
srhcllr

Perks

So for my young adult literature class we need to five books throughout the whole semester. The last book i read was Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli. Great book, I really enjoyed it and recommend it :)
I borrowed it from GR so now we need to plan a date so I can give it back to her!
Anyway I'm currently reading the Perks of being a Wallflower which in my opinion is another really good book. I already read the book so it's a plus :)

Nothing really exciting happened today, just did my homework and went to work at the school. But on my way home from work they blocked off the street and there were a bunch of cop cars everywhere with caution tape. I don't know what happened but I wonder...

Anyway photo for today is the lovely book I'm reading for the next two weeks:

Apple

I'm craving a nice juicy apple right about now. It sucks that I can't even bite into an apple anymore. On a brighter note, as I've previously mentioned, I finally got a new laptop! One I can actually bring with me to school and one that last's a whole day on one single charge!!! YAY!
So yeah, I love my "new" mac :) seriously if you're looking for a new laptop get a mac. It's my first one and I swear it's the best computer/laptop I've ever had. No more PCs for me hahah!
I've had it since end of August 2009 and I think i'll have it for a pretty long time. Anyway I'm really behind on all my readings for class so I must go finish that unfortunately!
